The Jeffersonian

2L

Before Jared J. Drucker started using his middle initial, he was just your average “Joe.”  While earning his B.A. in Communication Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, Jared also served in the United States Marine Corps, ultimately attaining the rank of Sergeant.

As a board member of the Thomas Jefferson Student Veterans Organization, a competition veteran of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Society, and now the Director of Gastronomy for the Jeffersonian, Jared spends his free time reading case law books and highlighting hornbooks.  Aside from continuing to enjoy sipping scotch and the occasional cigar, Jared no longer has time to enjoy his more favorite past times like underground Segway street racing and competitive napping.  Jared also hopes to carve out some time this year for other activities he enjoys like running, surfing, soccer, and golf.  Jared admits using his middle initial “will take some getting used to,” but adds that it is necessary to coordinate with his monogrammed socks and underwear.

Elisabeth Donovan, a 3L who will be graduating in May 2012, dreams of writing for The New York Times and hopes to one day have a career as a legal analyst. Elisabeth currently works at the TJSL Communications Department as a writer and editor and will also be writing for San Diego Lawyer Magazine this semester, along with interning at the San Diego County Department of Child Support Services. An animal rights activist, Elisabeth is also the Vice President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Elisabeth earned a B.A. in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, where she wrote for the student newspaper, The Daily Titan. She spent a total of 2 ½ years as both a writer and editor at her college newspapers and 1 ½ years writing for her college magazine. A fierce supporter of the 1st Amendment, Elisabeth often wrote controversial and risqué articles, and decided to pursue a law degree after her work was censored by an administrator at her college.

Ashley is a 2L, a member of Criminal Law Society, and Sports Law Society. She is from Denver, Colorado, and graduated from Fort Lewis College with a degree in communications.

Joshua Tallman is a 3L at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He is the 2011-2012 SBA Treasurer as well as Director of Outreach for The Jeffersonian. Joshua currently works at the law firm Lepiscopo and Morrow and upon graduating and passing the CA state bar in 2012 hopes to start his own practice in the area of Contract Litigation in the construction industry.
