Black Law Students Association - Thomas Jefferson School of Law
Our Mission...
Black Law Students Association is a student organization committed to its members’ professional development, academic achievement, social awareness, and community activism.
Our Vision...
To promote the needs and goals of our members to effectuate change in the legal community.
Our Purpose...
To provide a forum for members to discuss and remedy issues of concern to African American law students. Advocate programs aimed at increasing legal awareness and support in underserved communities. Facilitate social and professional interaction between current BLSA members and alumni of Thomas Jefferson School of Law and the greater legal community.
Our Goal...
To be active within our community, to ensure our members excel academically, and to be a home away from home for our members. We strive to cultivate the law school experience through service to our community, social action, and unity amongst our peers. This includes political education to the minority community in San Diego and motivating its youth to pursue higher education. We also provide networking opportunities with local attorneys, judges, and entrepreneurs as well as career building and academic workshops to ensure the success of our members. Equally as important, providing a healthy social atmosphere for our members during their matriculation at Thomas Jefferson has been essential to our achievements as an organization.
